Virtual
Kalavasos

The Kalavasos Virtual Museum was created to bring the history of this vibrant village to life through cutting-edge 3D technology. Developed in collaboration with Studio 3DX, the project uses lidar and photogrammetry to capture detailed 3D models of the artifacts housed in the Kalavasos Museum, as well as key archaeological sites like Kalavasos Tenta and Kalavasos Agios Dhimitrios. This immersive experience was made possible through the expert combination of archaeological research, digital technology, and a commitment to making history accessible to all.

Kalavasos Tenta (Neolithic Age)

The 3D model of Kalavasos Tenta was created using advanced drone technology to capture high-resolution aerial images of this important Neolithic site. Through multiple drone flights, detailed images were gathered from different angles and combined to form a precise 3D representation of the site. This model not only serves as a valuable tool for ongoing archaeological research but also allows for virtual exploration, offering scholars and visitors alike the opportunity to engage with the rich history of Kalavasos Tenta from anywhere in the world.

Kalavasos Ayios Dhimitrios (Bronze Age)

The 3D model of the Ayios Dimitrios archaeological site was created using drone photogrammetry, capturing high-resolution images from multiple angles during several drone flights. These images were processed into a detailed 3D model, accurately representing the site’s architecture and terrain. This model supports ongoing excavations, preserves the site digitally, and allows for remote exploration, offering both researchers and the public a unique way to experience this historical landmark.
